I spotted in the Skullduggery rulebook the species "Beastkin." This has me posing a few questions:

1: What weapons can a Beastkin weild. In real life, i'm training with Tanto's (wooden dagger), Bo staves and Archery. I can safely say I'm not adept at them, but it would be interesting to be a beastkin and do one of the forms I enjoy learning.

2: Are beastkins anywhere related to "furries." I ask because I am part of the furry community aswell and want to try my wolf costume out in SD (Note, the costume is faux-fur trousers with tail attachment and faux-fur sleaves running from my shoulderblades to my wrists, with clipings for clothing attire.)

3: Can beastkins use basic vocals? (The thought of growling and barking all day already makes my throat dry)

4: What Path's can Beastkin take?

I know these questions may seem redundant, but i really want to join in on the April weekend (That is assuming I have £40 to get a next day return ticket to Canterbury and money for a taxi.) I thank anyone in advance for answering my questions.

1: You can use any weapons you like (with the relevant skills), a lot of beastkin use LARP safe claws but many, if not the majority don't, instead using normal weapons, such as knives, staffs, bows...
2: Most of the beastkin are just LARPers, not furries aswell. It's not really the same thing, at the core of it LARP is a game that people play. Though I suppose in a sense they roleplay being half man half animal.. it's up to you how far you take that, some are pretty much human minds in an animal form, others are more animal. Costume wise though, that's more than fine.
3: Nearly all the beastkin talk as normal, you don't have to but I'd recommend it as frankly I'd get bored not talking all day.
4: Any and all.

Hope to see you in April then.

It entirely depends on its construction. Semi contact martial arts weapons are of a different construction to LRP weapons, and we look for a different set of criteria to MA. By all means bring it, but we may have to ask you to use something else due to its safety.

*Waves*

Hey, Names Jake.

I, along with many others, play a Beastkin. Nathan pretty much covered your questions, but still, I thought I would pop my head in, and smack Pazar till he does as well, to say hello.

The -Majority-, not all, of the Beastkin belong to the Natures Spirt Defenders (NSD). We call ourself, PACK!, for thats what we are, we are brother and sisters that fight tooth claw and nail to the last. Together.

We, try, to be all about protecting our weakest, and making sure everyone works together, of course, this isn't entirely practical! We range from the young(8year old) to the Old (She 21! Honest!), and are a varied bunch.

You have the egotistical sort like myself, who loves nothing better then a ruck that can be stuck into. To the sort of Pazar(Nathan, different one!), who alot quieter then me, but we are close buddies.

If there anything you want to talk about, from if you think a character will fit in (It will!) to ideas/tips for costumes or anything else, feel free to badger me, and if I can't help, then someone in the PACK! will be able to!

Wubs the Jakey
