Quick query from a non tech savvy person. Why would a pm sit in my outbox for over 24 hours without being sent?

I believe PMs are only marked as 'sent' when the other person has logged in. So it means that person hasn't been online since.

Well it depends on their settings as well, if it's in your outbox it just means the haven't read it. As Nate said some settings make it pop up on screen with the messages. Others like mine mean i have to click on my new message link in the top left.
